QUEER 101: AND WHY IT MATTERS FOR YOUR BUSINESS

A KEYNOTE PRESENTATION

Whether you know it or not, you very likely have gender queer people working in your company. And, without a doubt, queer folks are in your potential client or customer base.

However, many open, well-intentioned business leaders don’t know where to start with this conversation or how to make their workplaces more open and psychologically safe.

Jay Pryor can help solve this problem in an authentic, factual and welcoming way. An executive coach and speaker, Jay’s journey includes living as a woman, a man, and now a non-binary person. Their training/presentation is part storytelling keynote , part data and information, 100% authentic, vulnerable, and funny.

About The Facilitator

When Jay Pryor tells their story, listeners will be moved, entertained and enlightened. If history holds, afterwards, they will talk about the presentation to fellow attendees and then their families, friends, and business associates.

Jay follows every presentation with a Q & A. Our goal is to create a safe space where attendees can use the language they have to ask questions and engage with an OUT queer transgender, nonbinary human.

Attendees will leave this presentation with:

  • Guidance on how and when to talk about LGBTQIA+ issues in the workplace and with potential customers and clients

  • A clear definition of LGBTQIA+ and how and when Queer is appropriate

  • A clear understanding of what intersex means

  • A good start on understanding pronouns and how and when to use them correctly

  • A better understanding of how gender can evolve over time for a human and that gender is not static

  • An opportunity to get curious about gender and their own ideas and bias

  • An opportunity to engage and ask any questions of an openly out queer person in a safe environment

This deep exploration of gender will expand attendees’ consciousness, help them be better allies to queer people, and ultimately make them more successful business leaders and community members.
